This Friday I went to watch, "Sex and the City 2." It is quite a surprise that I chose to watch this movie. Normally, I am not so into the commercial movie. However, being in the military service let me change somehow. I do not change my taste for the movies, but I just want to watch some less serious movie when I come back. Even though, it is far more relaxing in the military camp now, I am still tired not to get the interesting information and do the things I love. Also, I feel like doing something that I would not like to do before and try to get out of my little box. Therefore, a relaxing and funny movie combined with one of my favorite, fashion, is the best choice for this week.
It is a huge surprise that the movie is far more amazing than what I though before. It is just like I order one cake without so much interest, but when I put it in my mouth I just find out how delicious it is and start to be addicted to it! In the beginning, I think it is just the story about some glamorous women shopping and having sex all the time, but actually it is not.
The film might seem relaxing, but there is something. It is not just about finding a wonderful partner, yet the life after it. We all know the prince and princess will eventually get together and live happily ever after, but we never know how they maintain their relationship, for example, what they can do to keep the sparkle between two people or how to make a perfect balance between personal life and career and who knows how hard it is to be a mother.
The story talks about those difficulties in the relationship in a hilarious and humorous tone but in the same time it speaks out something we are not willing to say and shares the moment we all have.
For those cute girls, I appreciate their attitude. I think they present the attitude of fashion, enjoy the life. They do not buy the luxuries randomly, they know what they want and the value of those labels. They enjoy the food, drink and their sex. Moreover, they talk in a humor and smart way. In addition, no smoking! Fashion is not just about being pretty. Fashion is more like an idea of having (enjoying) a better life with style and smart thought. So, for me, Fashion is a beautiful attitude.
Sex and the City creates a world of fantasy, incalculable labels, unbelievable beautiful apartments and endless parties. It is the life only few people can have. For me, it is just like the idea of Runway. We might not be capable (or need) to wear those overpriced clothes but it give us the dream, the imagination of having a great life.
Compare movie 1 and 2, the first one seems a test of market. It is still like a long version of the TV series. However, it does not mean I do not like it. ( I even watch it two times in two days!) It seems the first movie had a great success and they were daring to put more capital in it. The second movie is far more luxury and fabulous. Sometimes, I do not believe what I see in the movie, the endless gorgeous clothes can make you blind and the super-luxury tour can make you super jealous! It is definitely the style of movie, Exaggeration.
The interesting part of the second movie is the tour to an exotic world, the world of Arabia, the desert, camels, palaces, the buzzing markets with the smell of spices, the cloth of prints, the shoes of the Jasmine in Aladdin. Also, the interesting culture differences in the Muslim world.
There are so much to enjoy and there are so much to laugh in the movie.
